Trace Adkins is getting his holiday season started this weekend.

The country star is kicking off "The Christmas Show" tour in Effingham, Illinois Friday night.  The trek was inspired by Disney World’s Candlelight Processional, which Trace hosts each year.

Adkins' tour features theatrical shows in which the singer tells both historical and personal stories and performs classic holiday songs backed by a 12-piece ensemble.

With the trek Trace is also supporting his latest album, The King's Gift, a ten-track set of Celtic Christmas songs.  However, he says he's hoping "The Christmas Show" tour will become an annual event.
